Kultakeskus Group enters a new growth phase – investor group led by Helmet Capital becomes new majority owner
An investor group led by Helmet Capital has acquired a majority stake in the Kultakeskus Group. As a result of the transaction, ownership of the more than century-old Kultakeskus remains in Finnish hands, supporting the company’s strong Finnish identity and continuity of operations. Some of the company’s existing owners and key employees will continue as significant shareholders following the transaction. The purpose of the ownership arrangement is to accelerate the Group’s growth, particularly in international markets, while continuing to develop its business and production.
Founded in 1918, Kultakeskus is one of the leading Nordic manufacturers, wholesalers and importers of precious metal products. The Group focuses particularly on awards and recognition products, corporate gifts, jewellery and silver products, and watches. In 2025, the Group’s revenue was approximately EUR 28 million and it employed around 200 people in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Estonia.
In addition to Kultakeskus Oy, the Kultakeskus Group comprises Sweden-based AB Sporrong and its subsidiaries, as well as Estonia-based Juveel OÜ. The Group has its own production facilities in Hämeenlinna, Finland, and in Kuressaare and Tallinn, Estonia.
Kultakeskus and Sporrong have exceptionally long histories and strong positions, particularly in awards and recognition products. Sporrong’s history dates back to 1666, and in addition to companies, the Group’s customer base includes numerous public-sector organisations and institutions across the Nordic countries. Kultakeskus’s well-known consumer brands include Kohinoor and Kultakeskus Hopeaa.
At the core of the company’s next growth phase is leveraging its strong Nordic market position more broadly across Europe. In awards and recognition products in particular, the Group benefits from a strong reference base, in-house production and expertise in demanding, customer-specific products. Growth will also be pursued through product portfolio development, cross-selling the Group’s products and brands across markets, and further development of digital sales channels.
– “Kultakeskus and Sporrong have strong traditions, skilled personnel and an excellent foundation on which to build the next phase of growth. Helmet’s involvement brings us additional experience, resources and networks, particularly to support international growth and acquisitions. Our goal is to strengthen our position in the Nordic countries and become an increasingly significant player in other European markets as well”, says Janne Kartano, CEO of the Kultakeskus Oy.
Helmet Capital sees an opportunity to build a more international group on Kultakeskus’s strong Nordic market position.
– “Kultakeskus combines many of the qualities we value: a long and successful history, a strong market position, in-house production, well-known brands and a highly committed management team. We see particular potential in the awards and recognition business, where Kultakeskus and Sporrong have strong references and excellent opportunities to grow beyond the Nordic region. Together with management and the other shareholders, we are embarking on the company’s next phase of growth with a long-term perspective”, says Ilkka Starck, Chairman of the Board of Kultakeskus Oy.
The ownership arrangement will not affect the day-to-day operations of the Kultakeskus Group or its customer and partner relationships. Janne Kartano will continue as CEO of Kultakeskus Oy.
